AstroGirls

I was proud to be a part of AstroGirls – the astronomy group run by (you guessed it) Girls! Our mission? Visit local primary schools, teaching astronomy and hoping to inspire younger generations to take up the subject and pursue STEM. Our particular focus would be engaging girls and showing them that they could pursue science as a career, that although as female scientists they would be in the minority, they could still be powerful assets to the industry, striving for new discoveries and a world of wonder. As part of the learning, we provided interactive activities of making planet acronyms, Oreo moon phases and constellation wafers – all tried and tested by our own astronomy group. We can only hope we were successful! Click the link below for more information.
